Detroit market revs up for first Texturline Moiré retailer!
Fabulous Finishes in Shelby Township excited to offer unique fresh eco-friendly metallic finishing product

Fabulous Finishes On and Off The Wall in Shelby Township, Michigan
The walls, display stands and, yes, even the ceiling in decorative artist Patty Henning's Fabulous Finishes On And Off The Wall store in Shelby Township, Michigan, is busy with current interior design products and trends, definitely making this store a perfect fit for becoming the first metro-Detroit retailer of the top-selling beautiful eco-friendly shimmery metallic Texturline Moiré Colors by Drew™ tintable plasters.
"I am honored to have been selected by Drew to carry his line of exciting finishing products," Patty said.
Although Patty said she was 'a little nervous at first when Drew mentioned a tint machine' the universal tinting system will allow Fabulous Finishes to tint plasters into thousands of beautiful shimmery eco-friendly metallic hues for metro-Detroit finishers.
And Patty said that metro-Detroit was way over due for access to this kind of finishing technology.
"I've been a professional finisher for nearly nine years in Michigan and I've always felt that there was lack of professional finishing products offered locally, as well as the ability to find quality finishing instruction," she said. "Now, having Drew's line of products in my reach, I can create and educate with products right at my finger tips at any given moment of every day."

Metro-Detroit Texturline event sparks overwhelming local interest
Teknicolor Paint in Birmingham hosts product demonstration, creates buzz in local finishing industry
A recent Texturline demonstration event at Teknicolor Paints in Birmingham, Michigan, started quite a bit of chatter in the metro-Detroit finishing industry.
Heidi Wilt from Creative Finishes, LLC, in Romeo, Michigan, lead the demonstration, applying the shimmery natural hue of Texturline Moiré Colors by Drew™ Motown to a surface (pictured above left).
In addition to a swarm of finishers attending the demonstration in person, Twitter lit up with related pictures and tweets along with Facebook seeing an increased number of Texturline-related posts for weeks following.
Could this is the start of something big in Michigan? We say yes, it is.
A big thank you to Kevin Westfall for hosting the hugely successful demonstration event last November! Teknicolor Paints has four locations around metro-Detroit. The recent Texturline demonstration, featured in the above picture, was at 33488 Woodward Avenue, Birmingham, MI 48009-0906.

January 2012 Finishing Thoughts...
A commentary by Drew Beninati
'Michigan Inspires'
The enticing sand dunes and crimson brown bark of the cherry trees in Michigan’s west; the aroma of cannoli and S-cookies baked to delicious shades of gold at Mannino’s Bakery in the east; the vibrant Mighty Mac in the north. Michigan continues to amaze and inspire me. This year, I have had the pleasure of meeting some of Michigan’s best fine finishing professionals. These extremely talented and energized folks will lead the path to what’s new in decorative finishing. In this issue, we’ve introduced you to some of Michigan’s best. As the economy has definitely accelerated in a positive direction, the way we sell decorative finishes will continue to change. Our goals, however, will remain the same: Provide outstanding service to independent paint retailers and their customers, and develop and offer unique finishing products that are cost effective, easily customizable, practical, and, most of all, simple to maintain. Many thanks to Kevin Westfall, Heidi Wilt, Patty Henning and Rob Kolloen. I look forward to the opportunities that 2012 will present and I wish you much success and health in this new year!

Fun Facts!
Hey, did you know...
You don't have to be a huge football fan to appreciate the eco-friendly actions taken during the recent construction of a new stadium downtown Detroit. Builders for the Detroit Lions' new facilities reused 300,000 pounds of recycled rubber tires, 20 million pounds of recycled steel and 10 million pounds of concrete. Also recycled was part of the local unused historical J. L. Hudson department store warehouse, which makes up 750,000 square feet of the south portion of the Detroit Lions' facility. Cool, huh?
Goes to show, being earth-friendly, like all the products created and sold at PlasterCenter, spans those with varying interests and 'Going Green' seems to be in the heart of the revitalization of Detroit!
