This three hour program will provide you with techniques, tips, and hands-on training, to create spectacular Moire and Modern Master Metallic Plaster Finishes on your home walls. Students will explore simple one and two coat applications, tone on tone color blending techniques.

  • Distressed Wood-Working, Molding and Cabinet Workshop

    9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

    This 3-day workshop was designed for those who want to learn to transform

    ordinary or outdated moldings, cabinets and furniture into true show pieces and works of art. You will learn to distress wood using a variety of tools creating worm-holing and markings that shout “age”. You will learn proper surface preparation, application and sealing. You will learn two forms of crackling, texturing, leathering, and how to create the look of hand-carved wood. A variety of products will be introduced including, but not limited to: Faux Effects, Modern Masters and Wood-Icing.

    This 4-hour course will get you started. Students will learn quick and easy one and two color glazing techniques to create elegant finishes. You will learn stippling, color blending and softening, and helpful tips. Today’s HOT wall trend… metallic wall finishes!! Simple to do, stunning results, two easy steps, with this fast paced, fun filled hands-on program. Bring a friend!

  • Intro to Trowel-On Coatings

    9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

    This 3-day course will introduce students to a variety of increasingly popular trowel-on coatings and proper trowel techniques. Students will learn proper surface preparation, tools, product knowledge, and application technique. Students will be introduced to Faux Effects products Set Coat and Lusterstone and TexSton’s SilkStone (today’s HOT wall trend… metallic wall finishes), iridescent top coats and eco-friendly Lucido fine Venetian plaster. Classic Marmorino will wow your clients. Firmolux’s all-green traditional Venetian plaster, Grasso di Calce, and a variety of wax/soap options will be demonstrated. Students will produce 8 portfolio quality samples.
